Getting your money back
Last updated 22 August 2026
Try 100 photographs free before paying anything. If you do pay and it isn't right, write to us within 14 days and we'll refund you.
Try before you pay
The app sorts your first 100 photographs free, with no card and no account. That is deliberately enough to see roughly a dozen species come out named — the only way to know whether it recognises the birds you actually photograph. If it doesn't suit you, stop there and nothing is charged.
Refunds
If you have paid and the app isn't what you needed, email hello@plumagesort.com within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it. You do not need to give a reason.
Photographs you have already sorted have been delivered, so a refund covers the capacity you have not used rather than the whole period. That is why the first 100 are free: the point at which to decide is before you have spent anything, not after a job has run.
Refunds are processed by our payment provider, who is the merchant of record, and typically reach you within a few working days depending on your bank.
After 14 days
Cancel at any time and it stops renewing. Cancelling does not refund the period already paid for — and you keep it: your photographs stay available until the end of the period you have paid for, whichever way you cancel. You are not required to choose "cancel at the next billing date" to keep what you bought.
Top-ups
Top-ups are bought outright and never expire. Photographs already sorted against a top-up have been delivered, so a refund covering those is not something we can offer — but an unused top-up within 14 days is refundable like anything else.
A top-up is drawn on only after the current period's allowance is spent, so buying one early never wastes it.
If the app is broken
Tell us before asking for a refund. A defect we can reproduce is usually one we can fix faster than a refund clears, and we would rather you had a working app than your money back. Either way, your statutory rights for faulty goods are unaffected by anything on this page.
Your statutory rights
Where your local law grants stronger rights than this page describes — a cooling-off period, a right of withdrawal, or a remedy for goods not as described — those rights apply and nothing here limits them.
